Matthew Wetherington

Matt Wetherington is an Attorney at Conley Griggs, LLPMatt Wetherington is an attorney who is unwavering in his desire to fight for individuals and businesses who have been harmed by the misconduct of others.  Matt is enthusiastic, creative, and willing to work however long it is necessary to favorably resolve a client’s claim.     
 
Matt grew up in Climax, Georgia, and graduated from Bainbridge High School.  He attended Mercer University where he completed the Great Books Program and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.  During his senior year, Matt joined with three other students to produce a comprehensive plan for the revitalization of Macon: College Hill Revisited.  This plan became the foundation of the present-day College Hill Alliance, which has generated several million dollars of investment in downtown Macon and sparked a new era of growth in Middle Georgia.
 
After completing his undergraduate degree, Matt traveled 6,400 miles across America in a big green RV interviewing entertainers, corporate leaders, and social advocates for biographical stories on pursuing a fulfilling and purpose-driven life for the PBS series Roadtrip Nation.  After filming Roadtrip Nation, he returned to Mercer and attended the Walter F. George School of Law. While in law school, Matt co-founded, and eventually sold, Our College Town, LLC, which is an online store that produces and sells UGA and Mercer memorabilia. He also continued his work with the College Hill Alliance. Matt was also involved academically and completed the Legal Writing Certificate Program with honors.    

As evidenced by his achievements, Matt has a tremendous energy and the determination necessary to see projects through to the end. He has received extensive training in personal injury matters and has been an associate attorney on cases throughout the Southeast.  Matt is admitted to practice law in all state and superior courts in Georgia, including the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court. He is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. He is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
 
Matt resides in Atlanta with his wife, Michele. While not practicing law, he continues to write extensively on sustainable urban growth and redevelopment issues in Georgia.
