$10,000,000 Jury Verdict in Product Liability Case

A Jefferson County Superior Court jury awarded $10 million to the family of a deceased, undocumented Mexican worker, with surviving spouse-client unable to obtain visa to attend trial in person.  The deceased was pressed to death by lumber mill rollers when the machinery failed to work properly after the operator hit a button. The defense had offered $20,000 to settle the case before trial. According to Defendant's counsel, the verdict is five times larger than any prior verdict in this venue. Cale Conley and Ranse Partin represented the family at trial.
